Description
Ratto Bros. farms is pleased to offer cactus leaves, traditionally found in Mexican and Central American cuisine and recently gaining popularity in the United States. The fleshy green slabs are protected by lighter prickles. Edible cactus can be eaten raw, steamed or sautéed, and is excellent in salad, salsa, corn dishes, couscous or rice, and burritos.

Care and Handling
Can be refrigerated tightly wrapped for up to a week. Before using, the thorns must be removed. A vegetable peeler will shave them off quickly. Trim the outside edges of the pads as well.
