Description
Similar in appearance to turnips, Rutabagas are distinguished by yellow flesh and thicker, smoother leaves. They are sweeter in flavor than turnips and should be peeled before cooking. Rutabagas are complementary to lamb or game; they can be mashed alone or added to mashed potatoes; or they can be served raw with dip. Rutabagas are an excellent source of Vitamin C.
